Earlier this week, more than 150 NACAC members and supporters descended on Capitol Hill to advocate for the association’s college access agenda and urge passage of a reauthorization of the Higher Education Act. See photos from this year's sold out event.
During meetings with their representative and senators, NACAC members conveyed our support for legislation that passed the House Education and Labor Committee last year. They also urged Congress to find a permanent solution for the hundreds of thousands of DREAMers whose future has been uncertain since the Trump administration rescinded the DACA program; the program’s fate is now pending before the Supreme Court (a decision is expected later this spring or early summer). Their voice – and yours – is critical to ensuring students have access to postsecondary counseling and can fully reach their academic potential.
