Which organizations are eligible for membership under this category? 

Corporate

Business and staff employed by the member organization that provides admission/financial aid or counseling services to students and/or professionals.

Nonprofit

Not-for-profit organization and staff employed by the member organization that offers counseling and/or financial aid services.

Membership fee is based on staff size.

College Access/Community-Based Organization

A not-for-profit community-based organization and staff who are employed by the member institution and staff employed by a member-eligible organization that provides counseling, admission, or financial aid services to students at the state or local level and staff.

Membership fee is based on staff size.

Individual Associate (Nonvoting) $125

Secondary Individual (Voting) $225

College Access/Community-Based counseling professional whose member-eligible organization has not joined NACAC.


Membership Eligibility Requirements 

Corporate

Organizations that provide products and/or services to the counseling, admission, or financial aid professions or in support of students in the transition to postsecondary education.

Nonprofit

Tax-exempt organizations whose primary activities consist of providing counseling, admission, or financial aid services in support of students transitioning to postsecondary education. Must provide proof of tax-exempt status with the application. 

Community-Based Organization

Tax-exempt organizations that exclusively serve students within a city or state. The primary activities consist of providing counseling, admission, or financial aid services in support of students transitioning to postsecondary education. Must provide proof of tax-exempt status with the application. 

In addition, all organization members must:

  • Submit copies of organization literature that describes the purposes of the organization.

  • Provide proof that the organization has been established for at least three years. 

  • Designate a primary contact on the organization's account whose professional responsibilities include providing services or products to students or to counseling, admission, or financial aid professionals.

Please note:

  • Organizations that award a diploma are not eligible for this membership category. 

  • All professional staff should be included on your membership roster. Professional staff is defined as the staff who are employed by a not-for-profit organization whose primary work includes providing products and services that support the college admission process. Organizations may include additional members but including those individuals in addition to the required members may result in the organization paying additional dues.

  • Individual membership options are not offered to individuals working at for-profit or non-profit organizations (excluding community-based organizations).
