Which institutions are eligible for membership under this category? 

Secondary 

Institution and staff who are employed by the member institution and staff employed by a member-eligible institution whose primary work includes assisting students as they transition from secondary to postsecondary institutions. 

Membership fee is based on staff size.

Secondary Individual Associate (Nonvoting) $125

Secondary Individual (Voting) $225

Secondary counseling professional whose member-eligible institution has not joined NACAC.

Postsecondary

Accredited, not-for-profit institution and staff who are employed by the member institution and staff employed by a member-eligible institution whose primary work includes assisting students as they transition from secondary to postsecondary or between postsecondary institutions. 

Membership fee is based on staff size.

Postsecondary Individual Associate (Nonvoting) $125

Admission professional whose member-eligible institution has not joined NACAC.

Membership Eligibility Requirements 

Secondary Schools

Regionally or nationally institutions accredited in accordance with policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors.

Please note: 

  • All professional staff should be included on your membership roster. Professional staff are defined as counseling staff who are employed by a secondary institution whose primary work includes working with students as they transition from secondary to postsecondary institutions. Part-time, seasonal, or clerical staff are not required to be included in the institutional membership.  

  • Institutions may include part-time, seasonal, or clerical staff as members, but including those individuals in addition to the required members may result in the institution paying additional dues.  

Postsecondary Institutions

Not-for-profit postsecondary degree-granting institutions regionally or nationally accredited in accordance with policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors. 

Please note: 

  • A campus or educational institution that is located outside of the main campus and offers courses on behalf of its parent institution will be considered an extension of the institution and not a separate educational entity.  

  • All professional staff should be included on your membership rosterProfessional staff are defined as admission staff who are employed by a member institution and whose primary work includes assisting students as they transition from secondary to postsecondary or between postsecondary institutions. Part-time, seasonal, financial aid or other staff who support the admission process are not required to be included in the institutional membership. Institutions may include these individuals as members but including those individuals in addition to the required members may result in the institution paying additional dues.  

Designate a primary contact to be responsible for organizational compliance, accountability, and membership.
