Which institutions located outside of the USA are eligible for membership under this category? 

Secondary 

Institution and staff who are employed by the member institution and staff employed by a member-eligible institution whose primary work includes assisting students as they transition from secondary to postsecondary institutions. 

Membership fee is based on staff size.

Secondary Individual Associate (Nonvoting) $125

Secondary counseling professional whose member-eligible institution has not joined NACAC.

Secondary Individual (Voting) $225

Secondary counseling professional whose member-eligible institution has not joined NACAC.

 

Postsecondary

Accredited, not-for-profit institution and staff who are employed by the member institution and staff employed by a member-eligible institution whose primary work includes assisting students as they transition from secondary to postsecondary or between postsecondary institutions. 

Membership fee is based on staff size.

University System Administrator

(Individual Membership Option Only)

Individual employed by a public university system who oversees admission and enrollment management activities and is not based at a specific institution.

School District Administrator 

(Individual Membership Option Only)

Individual employed by a school district who oversees counseling and is not based at a specific school.

Membership Eligibility Requirements 

Primary or Secondary

Must be listed in one of the following resources:

  • European Council of International Schools
  • Council of International Schools: International School Directory
  • Overseas American-Sponsored Elementary and Secondary Schools 
  • Assisted by the U.S. State Department (Secondary Schools)

If the school is a local or national school located outside of the United States:

The school representative must attest that the school offers a curriculum that results in a high school diploma or comparable credential. The school must provide documentation in English proving that the school is recognized by its country’s government, e.g. Ministry of Education.

OR

NACAC must be able to obtain written verification regarding the validity of the school from EducationUSA, United States Department of State.

Postsecondary 

Must be listed in one of the following resources: Additionally, our institution must be listed in or identified by one of the following resources:

  • The European Council of International Schools Higher Education Directory
  • The Council of International Schools 
  • The Directory of Canadian Universities
  • International Schools Directory

OR

The institution must provide writing documentation in English proving that the school is not-for-profit and is recognized by its country’s government, e.g. Ministry of Education.

  • To apply for institutional membership you must update your individual profile to add your company.

  • School Districts and University Systems need to submit their applications before additional schools can be added.
