Independent Educational Consultant, WB College Consulting (ME)
Whitney Bruce
I’ve been a NACAC member as part of a college, a secondary school, and now as an IEC. I benefit from the professional development opportunities, including attending my first advocacy day event this year. After more than 20 years in this profession, reconnecting with some of my early mentors at the national conference each year is a treat.

I cannot imagine my career during these past 20 years without NACAC. NACAC provides the interconnectedness for members serving within our profession and the ability to gain valuable insight into the larger world of college admissions. The relationships with colleagues in the profession I have established over the years at national conferences and at other NACAC professional development programs along with my involvement within NACAC and its affiliates has been essential in my development and growth as a leader and made me a better counselor and advocate for students.

In their own words
NACAC has served as an excellent plug to be able to connect with students outside of Pennsylvania. As a counselor, there are so many different states, cities, areas that one could find themselves in meeting new students. NACAC’s national conferences help me network myself and NACAC’s college fairs help me network with students.
I am a drastically better professional due to the many resources available through the NACAC network. I cannot do my work without NACAC.
I have always looked to NACAC to outline the standards for our profession and to keep me informed about important issues impacting our work and the students we serve. NACAC has also provided me with some of the most beneficial professional development opportunities both in programming (conferences) and in networking. I enjoy connecting with colleagues from all over the world who are coming together with the same mission.
