In their own words
Recent award winners reflect on receiving NACAC's top honors
Any contributions I have made to advance guidance and advocacy for students are a direct result of the professional development opportunities afforded me throughout my career from our professional associations and their members as well as from the leadership and colleagues within the institutions I have served. It is now more important than ever that we work with and through our associations to successfully guide the way to inclusion for all students and further advance our mission for access, equity, and affordability. I’ve been honored to dedicate my career to that effort and cannot express the depth of my gratitude for this recognition.
Throughout my career, NACAC has provided me with professional development and network opportunities that have allowed me to become a much more effective advocate and change agent. With my roots and career solely in California, NACAC afforded me the opportunity to understand and contribute to the national and international arenas of college admission counseling and student outreach. I appreciate the guidance and support I have received from my colleagues over the years. I was honored to receive the Margaret E. Addis Service Award, and look forward to paying it forward, especially with newer members of our profession in NACAC, and my affiliate, WACAC.
